TV show seeks single farmers in southwest Missouri

Posted online
The producers of “American Idol” will be in Carthage Nov. 10 looking for single farmers to star in a new reality-based TV show.

Executives of Fremantle Media North America, which has produced “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent” and “The Price is Right,” are seeking “young, attractive male farmers” in their mid-20s and 30s for “The Farmer Wants a Wife.”

The casting call is 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Joplin Regional Stockyards on Interstate 44 at Exit 22. Interested farmers can e-mail farmercasting@gmail.com or call (877) 255-8009 for more information.

After finding success overseas, the show is coming to America aiming to match a single farmer with a wife. Producers chose southwest Missouri among four Midwestern areas in pursuit of “hard-working, fun-loving and family-oriented” single farmers, who “love the traditional, small-town way of life,” according to a Fremantle news release.

Other casting calls scheduled in Lincoln, Neb., Lubbock, Texas, and Des Moines, Iowa, began Oct. 27 before producers stop in Carthage.[[In-content Ad]]
