TV broadcaster awarded $55M in hotel stalking case

Posted online
A jury has awarded TV broadcaster Erin Andrews $55 million as a result of her lawsuit against a Nashville Marriott and a man who took and posted a nude video of her online.

Andrews had sought $75 million in a suit against her stalker, Michael Barrett, and the management company and owner of the hotel. Barrett tampered with Andrews' hotel room peephole to record a video of her. It was posted on the Internet in 2009.

The jury found Barrett 51 percent responsible and the hotel 49 percent responsible, meaning Barrett must pay $28 million in damages while the hotel is ordered to pay $26 million.

Andrews is currently a broadcaster for Fox Sports and co-hosts ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
