Burr Ridge, Ill.-based Tuthill Corp. has hired a new president for its Springfield division.

Steve Westfall starts this week as president of Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems, a manufacturer of vacuum pumps and positive displacement blowers selling equipment to markets including the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and power industries, according to a news release.

Westfall, who starts Aug. 8, succeeds Bill Treacy, who is leaving to take another position, according to Tuthill spokesman Craig Keeling.

Westfall moves to Tuthill from CST Industries, where he worked as president of the Lenexa, Kan.-based company's storage division. He also has served as president and CEO of Detroit Tool Metal Products in Lebanon and president of EaglePicher Technologies in Joplin.

“Steve has demonstrated a track record of creating successful global growth strategies in key markets, which makes him an ideal leader for Tuthill Vacuum & Blower," Tuthill Corp. CEO Tom Carmazzi said in the release. "His proven abilities to obtain significant increases in sales and profits with complex manufactured products aligns well with Tuthill’s long-term corporate goals.”
