The best way to get something done is to complete the task on Tuesday, according to a recent survey by Accountemps. According to a company news release, 48 percent of the executives surveyed said employees hit peak performance on Tuesdays.
On the other hand, just 1 percent of the survey respondents choose Friday as the most productive workday. Monday was ranked second, with 26 percent of the re-spondents choosing it as the most productive day, followed by Wednesday at 9 percent and Thursday at 5 percent. Of the respondents, 11 percent indicated a don't know/no response answer.
"It's natural for activity levels to fluctuate throughout the course of a week. By learning to identify the normal peaks and valleys in staff productivity, managers can provide additional motivation when it is needed most," said Max Mess-mer, chairman.
"Mondays can be hectic because there are frequently more meetings scheduled. By Tuesday, employees may be better focused on day-to-day responsibilities," he added.
Messmer said the survey indicates as the weekend nears, productivity is affected a sign employees may need closer guidance or morale boost to keep focused. The survey, conducted by an independent research firm, includes re-sponses from 150 executives from some of the nation's companies.
