TSA workers calling in sick during shutdown

Quartz reports the number of Transportation Security Administration employees calling in sick is growing as the federal government shutdown continues.

On Jan. 20, day 30 of the shutdown, 10 percent of TSA employees called in sick. That compares with 5.6 percent on Jan. 12, the day after TSA workers missed their first paychecks.

The absense rate for Jan. 20, 2018, was 3.1 percent, according to TSA data.
