The Transportation Security Administration will not enforce the mask mandate on public transportation after a federal judge ruled against the order.
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention overstepped its authority by requiring people to wear masks on public transit.
The CDC will continue to recommend masks on public transit, and the Justice Department reportedly is considering an appeal of the court order.
