The Transportation Security Administration's expedited security program is now available at Springfield-Branson National Airport.
Brian Weiler, director of aviation for the airport known by its SGF service code, and Jim Spriggs, federal security director of the TSA, are scheduled to formally launch the program at 10 a.m. tomorrow, according to a news release.
Known as TSA PreCheck, the service is utilized by some 2 million travelers at over 150 U.S. airports.
The program allows preapproved, low-risk travelers the ability to move through TSA security quicker by not having to remove their shoes, light jackets or belts. They also may leave their laptop and compliant liquids and gels in their carry-on bags, according to the release.
All four airlines at SGF - Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines - are among the 13 that participate in the PreCheck program.
To be approved for PreCheck, travelers must complete an online application, schedule an appointment, provide required documentation and fingerprints, and pay an $85 fee, according to
