California Attorney General Xavier Becerra yesterday said a lawsuit would be filed "imminently" against the Trump administration for the president's national emergency declaration.
Becerra said New Mexico, Oregon, Minnesota, New Jersey, Hawaii and Connecticut are among the states planning to join the suit.
President Donald Trump on Friday announced the emergency declaration to free up funding for his proposed border wall.
