The Trump administration is considering a federal takeover of a portion of the nation's mobile network, according to documents obtained by Axios.
According to the documents, the United States needs a centralized 5G network within three years to guard against China.
The administration is considering paying for and building a single network or working with wireless providers to build their own networks. However, a source familiar with the matter said the second option is unlikely.
