Trump sought Australia's help with Russia probe

President Donald Trump reportedly sought Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison's help in Attorney General William Barr's review of the origins of the Russia probe.

Justice Department spokesperson Kerri Kupec confirmed Trump, at Barr's request, reached out to multiple countries for help with the probe.

"This call relates to a DOJ inquiry publicly announced months ago to uncover exactly what happened," White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said of the Australia call. "The DOJ simply requested that the president provide introductions to facilitate that ongoing inquiry, and he did so, that's all."
