Trump says US will move toward reopening

Posted online

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said the country is ready to begin exploring the process of reopening.

"The data suggests that nationwide, we have passed the peak on new cases," Trump said. "We'll be the comeback kids, all of us. We want to get our country back."

Politico this morning reported more than 640,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, as well as over 28,500 deaths.

Public health officials have warned testing is not yet adequate enough to determine whether the spread of the virus has slowed.
