President-elect Donald Trump said he would nominate hedge fund executive Scott Bessent as Treasury secretary.
The founder of Key Square Group, Bessent is "one of the world's foremost international investors and geopolitical and economic strategists," Trump said in a statement.
Bessent reportedly favors gradual tariffs.
