President Donald Trump's pick for the comptroller of the currency is a former colleague of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
The nominee is former One West CEO Joseph Otting. Mnuchin bought One West in 2009 and worked closely with Otting.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is an independent agency within the Treasury and is responsible for overseeing the nation's biggest banks, including Bank of America, JPMorgan and Wells Fargo.
