Trump pick for US Senate loses in Alabama primary

Alabama voters chosen Roy Moore as the Republican nominee for a U.S. Senate seat yesterday.

His rival, Luther Strange, has been supported by President Donald Trump and other party leaders.

"We have to return the knowledge of God and the Constitution of the United States to the United States Congress," Moore said.

Moore is favored to win the December election. Alabama has not chosen a Democrat for the Senate since 1992.

Following the primary results, Trump tweeted his support of Moore.
