President Donald Trump on Tuesday ousted national security adviser John Bolton.
"I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House," Trump said on Twitter. "I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the administration, and therefore ... I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service."
Bolton, according to a Trump source who spoke off the record, told Politico that Bolton or one of his aides likely were responsible for leaks to the press regarding the administration's considerations to invite the Taliban to Camp David.
