Trump nominates Brett Kavanaugh for Supreme Court

President Donald Trump yesterday nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh as Justice Anthony Kennedy’s successor on the Supreme Court.

Trump described Kavanaugh as “one of the finest and sharpest legal minds in our time" who would apply the Constitution “as written.”

Kavanaugh, 53, is a federal appeals court judge, former aide to President George W. Bush and one-time investigator of President Bill Clinton.
