President Donald Trump on Friday said that Japan's Nippon Steel would make an investment in U.S. Steel rather than acquire it.
Trump made the announcement at a news conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
Ishibia said the investment would be mutually beneficial and that Japanese technology would be used at U.S. Steel mills.
