Trump may pardon former Illinois governor

President Donald Trump said he's “very strongly considering" pardoning former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Charged with corruption in 2008, Blagojevich was then impeached and removed from office. He later was convicted by a jury and and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Without a pardon or commutation from the president, Blagojevich is projected to remain in prison until 2024.

Trump said Blagojevich was "treated unbelievably unfairly" in the sentencing.
