President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order to approve the combination of U.S. Steel with Japan’s Nippon Steel.
Company officials signed an agreement with the U.S. government that gives it a so-called golden share.
In a regulatory filing, U.S. Steel indicated it would become a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Steel North America.
