President Donald Trump has filed an appeal after U.S. District Court Judge Jia Cobb blocked him from firing Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook while a lawsuit challenging his removal of her continues.
“The public interest in Federal Reserve independence weighs in favor of Cook’s reinstatement," Cobb said in the ruling.
Trump cited allegations of mortgage fraud in firing Cook, but she has denied any wrongdoing.
