President Donald Trump is asking Congress to rescind some $1.1 billion that already has been set aside for public media.
A simple majority in each chamber must approve the so-called rescission request within 45 days to comply with Trump's ask.
The request that would impact public broadcasting is part of $9.4 billion in proposed cuts, including funding for foreign aid.
