President-elect Donald Trump announced his selection of Paul Atkins as the next chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Atkins, who leads consulting firm Patomak Global Partners, is expected to be friendlier to cryptocurrency interests than current SEC Chair Gary Gensler.
Trump has pledged to make the U.S. a “world capital” for crypto and establish a crypto advisory council.
