Federal Judge Loren AliKhan on Tuesday paused the Trump administration's newly announced freeze on federal aid programs.
AliKhan said the order, which expires on Feb. 3, is a “brief administrative stay” amid litigation against the Trump administration order.
“I think there is the specter of irreparable harm," AliKhan said.
AliKhan's pause came just minutes before the directive was set to take effect. The Trump administration is seeking to align federal funding with the president's priorities.
