The Trump administration is planning to pause $175 million in federal funding to the University of Pennsylvania over a transgender policy.
A source familiar with the matter told The New York Times that the planned pause is related, in part, to the school's embrace of transgender woman Lia Thomas as a member of its women’s swim team.
Penn officials said the school is “in full compliance with the regulations that apply to not only Penn, but all of our NCAA and Ivy League peer institutions.”
