The Trump administration on Friday announced the start of "substantial" layoffs targeting federal workers amid the ongoing government shutdown.
A filing from the Trump administration points to around 4,200 planned layoffs, with Treasury and Health and Human Services workers hit the hardest.
The administration is calling the layoffs by their technical term: reductions in force.
