Trump administration proposes 20% import tax to build wall

Posted online
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer yesterday mentioned to reporters one possible way to fund President Donald Trump's plan for a Mexican border wall.

The suggestion is a 20 percent import tax on Mexican goods.

"By doing it that we can do $10 billion a year and easily pay for the wall just through that mechanism alone. That's really going to provide the funding."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell yesterday estimated the cost of the wall at $12 billion to $15 billion.
