True Food Kitchen files for bankruptcy

Health-focused restaurant chain True Food Kitchen has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The bankruptcy filing lists $42 million in debt.

True Food Kitchen, which has been backed by Oprah Winfrey and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, additionally closed 12 of its restaurants. That leaves 34 locations in 14 states remaining.
