Tronc purges senior leadership at Los Angeles Times

Tronc fired several top editors at the Los Angeles Times as it moved to put new leaders in place.

Davan Maharaj, the newspaper's former editor in chief, was replaced by Jim Kirk, formerly of the Chicago Sun-Times. Kirk becomes interim executive editor and will lead a search for a permanent editor in chief.

Tronc also let go of Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin, Deputy Managing Editor for digital Megan Garvey and Assistant Managing Editor of investigations Matt Doig.

Former interim Yahoo CEO Ross Levinsohn was selected as publisher and CEO of the Los Angeles Times.
