For the third consecutive year, the city of Branson and the Tri-Lakes Building Safety Organization will sponsor the Tri-Lakes Building Show, set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 10, according to a city of Branson news release. The event will be held at the Hollister Lions Club Building, 1015 East Highway 76.
More than 35 vendors will set up booths to display various building-related items, and there will be demonstrations showing the latest in building materials, safety gear and firefighting equipment.
This is the first year the event will be held at the Lions Club Building. In the past two years, the building show has been held at Branson City Hall. But according to Branson Building Administrator Jon Parish, the number of vendors, as well as last year's crowd, forced organizers to move to a larger location this time.
"This is a nice problem to have," Parish said. "We've seen this building show grow steadily over the past three years. Because the Branson area continues to experience good growth, there's a lot of interest in the building industry about what's on the market in the line of materials, procedures, tools and safety equipment."
The Tri-Lakes Building Show is being held in conjunction with International Building Safety Week, which has "Building a Safer Tomorrow" as its theme this year.
Parish said this year's building show is dedicated to former Hollister Fire Chief Bill Sansom, who died last year. A proclamation in his honor will be read and presented to the city of Hollister.
