Trevor Noah to replace Jon Stewart as host of 'The Daily Show'

Comedy Central announced Monday that South African comedian Trevor Noah will anchor "The Daily Show" when longtime host Jon Stewart leaves later this year.

Noah, who joined "The Daily Show" last year as a contributor and hosted his own talk show "Tonight with Trevor Howard" in South Africa, was considered the top pick to replace Stewart, according to the report.

Comedy Central has not named the date when Noah will succeed Stewart.
