Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin again delayed a decision on whether to turn over President Donald Trump's tax returns to Congress.
Mnuchin said his department “cannot act upon your request unless and until it is determined to be consistent with law" in a letter to Richard Neal, the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Mnuchin said the Treasury Department would make a final decision by May 6.
Trump has cited an IRS audit for not releasing his tax returns.
