For the first time in 15 months, the U.S. airline industry recorded more than 2 million passing through airport security checkpoints on a single day, The Associated Press reports.
On June 11, the tally was 2.03 million – some 1.5 million more travelers than the same day last year, according to Transportation Security Administration data – signaling recovery in the travel industry.
Airlines report recalling employees and hotel operators say bookings are improving as vaccination rates rise.
