Transportation projects go on review

Posted online
The Ozarks Transportation Organization has begun a public comment period for its proposed three-year transportation improvement program for the Springfield metropolitan area.

The comment period runs through Aug. 17, at which time the Metropolitan Planning Organization Board of Directors will review comments and vote on the adoption of the program.

To be eligible for federal funds, a project must be included in the plan.

The 2007-2010 program is available for review at The Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell; the City Utilities Transit Office, 1505 Boonville Ave.; and the third floor of the Busch Municipal Building, 840 Boonville Ave.

As of February, the organization’s priority projects included the interchange at U.S. Highways 60 and 65, the interchange at Highway 65 and Interstate-44, the interchange at Glenstone Avenue and James River Freeway and the development of multimodal corridors to the new terminal at Springfield-Branson National Airport.

Comments may be submitted in writing to the organization, 840 Boonville, Springfield, MO, 65801, or by e-mail to sedwards@ci.springfield.mo.us.[[In-content Ad]]
