Slated for completion this month, construction is moving along on Burrell Behavioral Health's Transitions facility at 323 E. Grand. The approximately $1.4 million project will give Transitions a total of about 20,000 square feet of space.
A combined renovation and addition, the construction will renovate 10,000 square feet of existing space and add another 10,000 square feet.
Transitions provides outpatient services for patients with mental illnesses. The project will provide a central location for Transitions staff, which includes physicians, psychiatrists, case managers and therapists. Located in the East Grand facility since the late 1980s, Transitions' staff has grown to about 100 employees.
MoDoCo is the general contractor for the project, and Dennis Spencer is the architect.
Included in the project is a renovation of Cafe Connections, an on-site eatery that serves lunch daily. The building also houses a day-treatment program and space for various activities.
