TransCanada gets presidential permit for Keystone XL

TransCanada announced today the company received a presidential permit from the U.S. Department of State for construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

The project still requires approvals from state regulators and also faces legal challenges.

The multibillion-dollar pipeline would bring more than 800,000 barrels per day of heavy crude from Canada's oil sands in Alberta into Nebraska.
