Trader Joe's founder dies

Trader Joe's founder Joe Coulombe died Friday. He was 89.

The first store opened in 1967 in Pasadena, California.

Coulombe retired in 1988, when Trader Joe's had 19 stores. It now has more than 500 stores in 42 states and Washington, D.C.
