Attract, Develop, Nurture Talent
The way a leader communicates is a solid indicator of their ability to attract, develop, and retain top-performing associates. I’m passionate about what I do and I like to challenge myself and motivate others. I lead by example and extend the grace necessary for my team to be able to balance work and life.
It’s also important to be authentic. When people know you’re genuine and you care, it inspires trust and loyalty. I try not to ask anyone on my team to do something that I’m not willing to do myself.
As human beings, sometimes we find it hard to embrace differences. In my personal life and in business, I strive to foster a culture that appreciates all people and their unique perspectives. A leader’s ability to embrace those differences, adapt, and leverage them as strengths is important.
I tell aspiring leaders to look hard for opportunities where you can be impactful and don’t be afraid to stand up for what you know is right. Be yourself and treat others with respect. The smartest person in the room is always “the room,” so collaboration is key.
And remember to have fun.
