Japanese truck and engine manufacturer Hino Motors, a unit of Toyota Motor, has reached a $1.6 billion settlement in the United States.
The settlement, which also includes a guilty plea by the company, is related to allegations of excess diesel engine emissions in more than 105,000 U.S. vehicles.
The settlement with U.S. agencies must be approved by a federal judge.
