Toyota Motor Corp. announced the recall of more than 2.4 million of its Prius hybrid vehicles over a software malfunction that can lead to crashes.
About 830,000 of the vehicles were sold in North America.
Previously, a recall involved more than 1 million hybrid cars at risk of catching fire was issued, marking two recalls in a month.
