Missouri Labor Department Director Larry Rebman visited Diesel Exchange Inc. in Springfield on Oct. 29 to discuss workplace safety programs and recognized businesses that work to prevent workplace injuries. The visit came on the heels of a month with higher than usual number of Missouri workplace deaths. In September, 15 Missouri workers died on the job, compared to the average of nine per month. Diesel Exchange, a diesel engine remanufacturer, became a member of the Missouri Department of Labor’s elite safety program, Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), in November 2008.
