Springfield engineering firm Toth & Associates Inc. is opening a second office this month in Portland, Oregon.
The local office, which was founded by Lou Toth in 2003, has 85 employees and is branching out to be closer to existing clients, said Marketing Coordinator Erin Rex.
“We’ve been working with several clients in the Pacific Northwest, and Toth is invested in the communities where our clients live and work,” Rex said, declining to disclose client names and expansion costs. “After working with clients in that area for a few years, we have decided to invest in that area.”
Jess Moran, professional engineer who has been with Toth & Associates since 2016, will relocate to Portland and work from a leased office suite at 107 S.E. Washington St., Rex said. Previously, Moran worked with Garmin International for six years and as an intern at Toth & Associates while studying electrical and electronics engineering at University of Missouri-Columbia.
Toth & Associates offers electrical, structural and civil engineering, as well as land surveying and mapping services, according to its website. It specializes in electric utilities.
Recent project work includes the $19 million Mercy Branson Multi-Specialty Clinic, the $11 million Christian County Circuit Court and the $2.6 million Ozarks Technical Community College Workforce Training Center. An online portfolio includes a long-range plan and a cost-of-service study for Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
