Toshiba plans to sell US nuclear unit

A Toshiba spokesman confirmed Tuesday the company is seeking to sell a majority stake in its U.S. nuclear subsidiary Westinghouse.

Toshiba also asked for a second extension to release its third-quarter earnings report as it investigates Westinghouse.

The company last month posted a $6.3 billion  in its U.S. nuclear unit, stemming from Westinghouse's acquisition of nuclear construction business CB&I Stone and Webster.
