Tony Stewart-Kevin Ward Jr. tragedy leaves many unanswered questions

Posted online
Watching video from Saturday’s sprint car race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, where a car driven by three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart struck and killed fellow driver Kevin Ward Jr., left many unanswered questions, according to Sports Illustrated.

The biggest, according to Sports Illustrated writer Mike Harris, is whether it could have been avoided and if there was malice behind it.

Bass Pro Shops-sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Stewart has represented a major marketing tool for the Springfield outdoor retailer.

According to OzarksFirst.com, Bass Pro released a statement Sunday after the fatal crash.

“All of us at Bass Pro Shops are deeply saddened about last night's tragic accident at Canadaigua Motorsports Park. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of sprint car competitor Kevin Ward Jr. and also to Tony Stewart and everyone at Stewart-Haas Racing.”
