Posted online
April 24 was Tom Finnie Day in Springfield, in honor of the outgoing city manager, who retired after 16 years of service to the city.

Above, Jan Horton signs a congratulatory card. Horton served as president and CEO of Community Foundation of the Ozarks before retiring in 2003.

The city also unveiled an honorary stone marker in Jordan Valley Park, right, during the festivities.

Above, Thomas Peebles, CFO board chairman, presents Finnie with a $25,860 check to start the Thomas W. Finnie Fund at CFO.

After the check presentation, Finnie, right, throws out the ceremonial first pitch at the Springfield Cardinals game as his 2-year-old granddaughter Emma looks on. Finnie’s successor, Bob Cumley, catches the pitch.[[In-content Ad]]
