Tobacco stocks crushed as FDA targets nicotine

Tobacco stocks fell on Friday after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced plans to target nicotine levels.

Shares of Marlboro and Parliament maker Altria plunged nearly 10 percent in response to the news.

The FDA is considering a plan to cut the amount of nicotine in cigarettes to "non-addictive" levels. It's also looking at "kid-appealing flavors" in e-cigarettes and cigars.
