“Fostering a culture of innovation, to me, starts with leadership. You have to have leadership in a company that is willing to push people beyond where they’re comfortable,” says Jeremy Clopton, owner of What’s Your SQ. Whether it’s creating a new product or improving a process, Clopton says leaders must demonstrate confidence in the employee’s ability to accomplish the task. Be willing to let employees fail because it’s an opportunity to learn and grow.
