Nixa-based Tiny Fins Survival Swim LLC, which provides survival swimming lessons for children with locations in three cities, is expanding to Springfield.
Co-owner Hayden Wooten said a spring 2026 opening is planned for the Springfield facility at 3001 E. Cherry St. Construct Cos. LLC is serving as general contractor for the roughly 6,000-square-foot project designed by Buf Studio LLC, said Wooten, declining to disclose expected construction costs.
"We serve around 550 students a week at our Nixa location," Wooten said via email. "With our waitlist currently six months to a year out, opening this location in Springfield will give us the opportunity to teach more children these lifesaving skills and reduce the time it takes to get into our program."
Wooten said Tiny Fins provides training for children as young as 6 months old so they can learn to save themselves in the event of a water accident. The company's website lists existing locations in Nixa, Bolivar and Jefferson City.
Wooten said Tiny Fins owns the property on East Cherry Street, located in a pocket of growing business development that includes Bark Yard and Excel Investments.
Wooten, who owns Tiny Fins with husband Ben, launched the business in 2019, according to its website.
