Tiny antenna threatens TV networks' air space

In April, the Supreme Court of the United States will hear a case that has the potential to change the way we watch television.
 
The major networks, including ABC, CBS and NBC, are challenging Aero, a company that has produced an antenna the size of an earring that could cost the TV giants billions of dollars in revenue, reports the New York Times.
 
According to the networks, the antenna’s ability to grab TV signals out of the air and direct them to the Internet is, in effect, stealing their content. Aero’s founder, Chet Kanojia, sees the case as challenging “how copyright is going to extend or apply to the Internet.” Although copyright laws allow people to privately watch whatever an antenna can grab, broadcasters call Aero transmissions a “public performance” that violates copyright laws.
