An advertisement displayed at New York City’s Times Square this week celebrated Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc.’s 20th year on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
The ad appeared Sept. 21 on the LED display of the Nasdaq’s seven-story MarketSite Tower headquarters, according to a news release. Guaranty Director of Marketing Carlye Wannenmacher said via email the company provided the artwork, but Nasdaq aired the ad.
Springfield-based Guaranty opened at $4.40 per share on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol GFED on April 10, 1995. Now with over $650 million in assets, the company’s stock was trading at $14.50 as of 9:30 a.m. Its 52-week range is $12.11 to $15.50.
“Over the last 20 years, the company has more than doubled in locations, employees, asset size and total revenue,” Guaranty Chief Financial Officer Carter Peters said in the release.
Guaranty was founded in 1913 as the Guaranty Savings and Loan Association, converted to a federal charter in 1935 and become public in 1995 after its members voted to issue public stock.
For its second quarter ended June 30, the company posted net income of $1.5 million, a 25.2 percent increase from a year earlier. The company operates nine branches in Greene and Christian counties and a loan production office in Webster County, according to
