Tillerson to put Exxon nest egg in a trust

ExxonMobil and Rex Tillerson are taking steps to address concerns about the nest egg the oil giant is scheduled to pay its former CEO.

Donald Trump's pick for secretary of state is slated to receive over 2 million Exxon shares, worth roughly $181 million, during the next 10 years.

If Tillerson is confirmed for the federal job, Exxon plans to put the value of the shares into an independently managed trust, which won't be allowed to invest in the oil company. Tillerson also agreed to sell more than 600,000 Exxon shares worth $54 million he currently owns.
